About The Pressing Report
The Pressing Report is a free weekly vinyl newsletter for record lovers everywhere. It covers anything vinyl: new releases and reissues of every kind, how they were pressed, new turntable and audio tech, DJ news and gear, the people behind the records, and record shops opening around the world.
What we cover
- New releases, reissues and pre-orders from every genre and every country: LPs, 12"s, 45s, box sets, represses and limited variants.
- All pressings. All-analog cuts, digital-sourced masters, half-speeds, One-Steps and everyday black vinyl. We note what's known about each one; we don't gatekeep.
- Tech and gear: turntables, cartridges, phono stages, speakers, record cleaning, and new pressing and plant technology.
- DJs and people: DJ news and gear, collectors, engineers, labels and the stories behind records.
- Record shops worldwide: new openings, moves and anniversaries, from London to Tokyo to your town.
Why it exists
Hundreds of new vinyl releases come out every week (Upcoming Vinyl's calendar alone lists roughly 400 a week this fall), and the news is scattered across label sites, magazines and forums in many countries. We do the digging and send a short, sourced roundup every Friday.
How an issue is made
- Our software collects news and releases from public RSS feeds in the US, UK, Europe, Japan and Australia (Upcoming Vinyl, SuperDeluxeEdition, AnalogPlanet, Record Collector, The Vinyl District, DJ Mag, Phile Web and others) and removes duplicates.
- We shortlist the week's best releases, gear and stories, and look for the label's mastering, source and plant details and for reputable reviews.
- A person reviews every issue before it's sent. Every factual claim links to a source. No source means no claim.
We use AI tools for gathering and drafting. Picks and final edits are reviewed by a person, and we fix mistakes publicly. Spot one? Email hello@pressingreport.com.
